Calling all Mario Kart fans! The Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) will be hosting the Mario Kart Wheelchair Race March 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.! Brought to you by Inclusive Recreation, this event is bringing Mario Kart racing to life, but with an inclusive twist!

In this competition, experience the thrill of racing against others using wheelchairs on our specially designed course. Before embarking on your race, choose your favorite character, each equipped with their respective accessories. So, if you’re Mario’s number one fan, we’ve got a hat waiting for you!

Get ready to tap into your competitive side, as the races are timed! The fasted racers are featured to earn a spot on our leaderboard, in true Mario Kart fashion.

This event not only highlights wheelchair-based sports but also offers a fresh perspective on competition. Whether you’re familiar with adaptive sports, or a newcomer to using a wheelchair, this is a positive and challenging environment to try something new!

For all the video game enthusiasts, fear not! Alongside the physical race, you’ll have the chance to play Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch, provided for your enjoyment. And if you’re waiting for your turn, join in the gaming fun to make the waiting time more enjoyable!

This event is free for all Long Beach State University (LBSU) students and winners will be given the chance to win prizes and all participants will be entered to an opportunity drawing.
