Director - Maureen MacRae
Maureen MacRae was born and raised in Long Beach. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Recreation in 2001 and her Master’s degree in Recreation Administration in 2011 here at CSULB. Maureen has worked in the CSULB Recreational Sports department since 2001 and the Student Recreation & Wellness Center since it opened in 2010. She is currently the Associate Director for the SRWC. Maureen is an Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certified personal trainer. When she's not working she enjoys playing pickleball & spending time with her family..

Assistant Director - Chris Huebner
Chris Huebner is originally from Saint Louis Missouri, but has since worked in the resort, collegiate, and residential camp settings in Missouri, Colorado, and Texas. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Health, Human Performance and Recreation with an emphasis in Outdoor Recreation from Southeast Missouri State University. He later received his MBA in Entrepreneurship and Experiential Business from Lamar University. Chris will be aiding in the progression of the Rock and Outdoor Adventures program, along with Beach Balance at the Student Recreation & Wellness Center. When Chris is not working, he enjoys rock climbing, canoeing, skiing, soccer, biking, backpacking, mountaineering, kayaking, snowboarding, and pretty much everything else outdoors. He is always looking for new and fun activities to get involved in. So, feel free to drop a few hints his direction.

Administrative & Facility Coordinator - Matthew Sauceda
Matthew Sauceda is a native Southern Californian and is a CSULB graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in public administration. As an undergraduate, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management Information Systems from CSULB. Since 2010, Matthew has worked with Associated Students, Incorporated as a student assistant in the University Student Union’s Maxson Student Organization Center and now joins the Student Recreation and Wellness Center as an Administrative Support Coordinator.

Aquatics & Safety Coordinator - Mike Freeman
Mike Freeman is an avid martial artist who has actively trained in seven styles of martial arts including MMA, Shotokan Karate, Hapkido, Arnis, and Tang Soo Do where he received his 3rd degree black belt. He is also very skilled in the area of Aquatics and Safety, and holds various Instructor and Instructor training certifications from the American Red Cross. He is very passionate in the area of inclusive recreation and seeks more ways to get all students involved with recreation!

Recreational Sports Coordinator - Anthony Almeida
Anthony Almeida is a native of Los Angeles, California. In 2014, Almeida earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training at Long Beach State University, and in 2019, a Master of Arts in sport management from the University of San Francisco. Anthony has a long history in recreation having started in the field in 2009, and is currently a certified athletic trainer. When Anthony is not working he enjoys watching sports and hanging out with family and friends.

Membership Coordinator - Leiana Armendariz
Leiana Armendariz is originally from San Diego, but has been a resident in Long Beach since starting her college and professional career. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness from CSULB. Leiana’s employment within Associated Students, Inc. began in 2012 when she started working at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center as a student in her roles as Weight Room Attendant and Personal Trainer. Following graduation she began working as a group exercise instructor and served as the Interim Fitness Coordinator. She is excited to be in this most recent position as the Membership Services and Outreach Coordinator and grateful for the opportunity to serve the, SRWC members, students, campus and Long Beach communities. While Leiana is not working, she enjoys running half marathons, traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with family, friends and loved ones.

Fitness & Wellness Coordinator - Cecilia Guerrero
Cecilia Guerrero is originally from California City, California (yes, we have our own city) but has made Long Beach her home since the start of her college career. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology - Fitness in 2016 and her Master of Arts in Kinesiology – Individualized Studies in 2020, both from Long Beach State University. She is also a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Cecilia has worked with multiple campus establishments since 2014, including 49er Shops Dining Services, the LifeFit Center @ The Beach, and the Department of Kinesiology. She joined Associated Students, Inc. in 2018 as the SRWC’s fitness graduate assistant – training clients, teaching group exercise classes and mentoring the facility’s personal trainers. You can still find Cecilia teaching HIIT classes throughout the week! When she’s not working or working out, Cecilia is either hiking, trying a new restaurant or reading a good book.

Rock & Outdoor Adventure Coordinator - Will Higuchi
Will Higuchi hails from the southern California city of Hesperia, but has lived in Long Beach since starting college in 2014. Since earning his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology - Exercise Science, Will has worked as both a student employee and professional staff member at the SRWC. He began working at the SRWC in 2018 as an Outdoor Shop & Climbing Wall Attendant, and progressed through the ranks to Rockwall Manager, and finally to his current position as Rock & Outdoor Adventure Coordinator. Will has been heavily involved in campus life, having serving two years as a Resident Assistant in the Beachside Residence Halls. Since he was young, Will enjoyed spending his time outdoors rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and camping with his family. When not working, Will’s hobbies include general fitness, concerts, rock climbing, hiking, mountaineering, and backpacking.
