The Student Recreation & Wellness Center team is excited to be open and serving you. Our re-opening process occurred in phases, as we continued to receive approvals based on the State of California COVID-19 safety protocols and mandates.
Hey alumni, faculty and staff members! Do you need some extra encouragement or motivation to keep up your workout routines throughout the summer? Well, the SRWC would love to help you out! If you haven’t started already, join us in our annual Summer Wellness Program! Between June 1 and Aug. 25, your goal is to redeem 25 points for a chance to win a FREE annual membership to the SRWC.
You have no doubt seen lifeguards on TV and in movies. Most of the time, they are in the middle of dramatic situations or watching over the pool or beach looking glamorous while hanging out with their friends. The reality of being a lifeguard, however, is slightly different than the media would have you believe. You won’t be saving swimmers from threatening situations all day, but you won’t be sitting at your station all day either. Being a lifeguard involves several daily tasks and responsibilities to keep the pool running efficiently. So, what do lifeguards do all day?
It is not too late to work on your summer body! Check out the summer instructional classes offered at the SRWC. Some of the sessions, which began on July 15, and you can still sign up for, include Total Body Shred, Boxing 101, TRX Mix and several Pilate Reformer classes.
As students, faculty and staff are aware, the Student Rec & Wellness Center (SRWC) has been physically closed since the COVID-19 pandemic spread to our region. The SRWC continues to be mostly closed until further notice.

Have you ever been interested in instructional fitness at the SRWC, but the barrier of reserving a spot in-person held you back? Maybe the anxiety of parking on campus persuaded you to skip that lifting class? That all changes with SRWC GO, a portal designed to remove the difficulties of accessing resources at the SRWC by letting you sign up for classes, outdoor adventures, intramurals and more directly from your phone or computer.
The SRWC team is dedicated to making sure that their members’ experiences are the best they can possibly be -- and that means keeping all of the SRWC’s equipment and facilities up-to-date and running smoothly!
