The gym is one of the best places to utilize sustainable alternatives. Here are some examples of products to use instead of single-use items for your next visit to the gym.

Gym Towel

Remembering to bring a towel to your gym visits can be a game changer. For those high intensity workouts, your sweat can be an indicator of great effort, but can make you feel uncomfortable at times. Instead of using paper towels, opt for a reusable towel.

Sweat’s purpose is to cool down the body, but a quick face wipe with a towel is a relieving feeling that is necessary when your sweat begins to uncontrollably drip onto equipment. In addition, a towel can be used as a cover for benches to prevent any bacteria to spread from prior users.

A reusable water bottle is an efficient way to reduce the amount of single-use plastics you use. Not to mention, a high-quality reusable water bottle can keep your drinks cold for hours, showcase your personality and provide you with hydration throughout the day.

The Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) is equipped with multiple water bottle refill stations for your reusable bottles to quench your thirst with cold, filtered water. Our machines highlight how many plastic bottles we’ve prevented from entering the landfill, so you can raise your awareness in our collective mission to aid the environment!

It may not seem like it, but many popular clothing brands do not prioritize sustainability when producing high-performance clothing. Investing in fitness gear targeted towards sustainability can further your journey towards an eco-friendly lifestyle.

Developing a more sustainable lifestyle can increase your awareness towards environmental issues. Doing your part in reducing waste makes a difference, and you may find your lifestyle improving for the better.
