Love Your Body Week (LYBW) is back this semester starting April 4. LYBW is a week dedicated to body positivity, self-acceptance and overall wellness. Events throughout the week focus on body-positive ideals, which can assist in building confidence as well as encouraging people to love and accept themselves.

The week kicks off with a wellness workshop hosted by Beach Balance that focuses on the positive effects journaling can have on one’s well-being. The first 15 people in attendance will be able to take home a Passion Planner. If working out is more of your thing, drop by the Student Recreation and Wellness Center’s (SRWC) Main Gym for our Mega Sweat Sesh, which will combine Zumba, yoga and a high intensity interval workout (HITT) workout.

The week is highlighted by our Smash the Scale event, which is set to take place on April 6 at 5 p.m. in the SRWC Courtyard, where students will be provided the opportunity to smash and scale and prove that the numbers on the scale do not define people. Students that attend will also be able to grab some ice cream, enjoy music and take pictures in a photo booth!

LYBW finishes off with a Yoga for Mental Health session in the SRWC’s Farber Fitness room, followed by the showing of the film, “I Feel Pretty” by Beach Pride Events on the University Student Union’s (USU) North Lawn.

Be sure to drop by each event for a chance to get some of the various giveaways available. For more information, visit Hope to see you all there!
